Worm Gearbox
The NMRV…F worm gearbox is extremely convenient to connect with ordinary motors, continuously variable transmissions, and flanged electromagnetic clutch brakes and does not require couplings to connect. It can be installed in all directions, and the output method is flange output, which can be connected to the shaft hole of the matching flange type. The output flange standard is a short output flange ( FA), and a long output flange (FB) is also available.

How Does a Worm Gear Reducer Work?
A worm pinion is a screw used to input power to the assembly. When coupled with a standard spur gear fitted with slightly angled teeth in a perpendicular alignment, known as a worm gear or worm wheel, the pairing becomes a worm gear reducer. As power from an engine or motor turns the worm pinion, its spirals push the teeth on the worm wheel, causing it to turn in accordance with the designed reduction ratio as it applies a load to its drive shaft.
Higher reduction ratios may be achieved by increasing the circumference of the worm gear or by increasing the number of threads on the worm pinion. Accomplishing the same reduction using conventional gear sets requires multiple reductions, which take up more space. Increasing the number of parts raising costs and adding to the risk of component failure. Worm gear reducers provide efficient, space-saving solutions for speed reduction and increased torque when compared with bulkier, higher-maintenance conventional gearsets.
Aluminum Worm Gearbox Installation Precautions
After the aluminum alloy NMRV worm gear reducer is installed, the accuracy of the installation position should be thoroughly checked in order, and the reliability of each fastener should be flexibly rotated after installation. If the worm gear reducer is splashed with oil pool splash, the user should remove the screw plug of the vent hole and replace it with the vent plug before running. According to different installation positions, open the oil level plug and screw, check the height of the oil level line, and add oil from the oil level plug until the oil overflows from the oil level plug screw hole. After the oil level plug is screwed up, the no-load test run can be carried out for no less than 2 hours.
The operation should be stable, without impact, vibration, noise and oil leakage. If abnormalities are found, they should be eliminated in time. When installing the transmission member on the output shaft, it is not allowed to strike with a hammer. Usually, the internal friction of the assembly jig and the shaft end is used, and the transmission member is pressed by the bolt, otherwise the internal parts of the worm gearbox may be damaged.
Worm Gear Reducers Operation & Maintenance:
(1) When the worm gearbox starts to work up to 200-400 hours, its lubricant should be replaced.
(2) Worm gear reducers need to replace the oil after 4000 hours.
(3) worm gearbox is fully filled with lubricant oil after finished assembly.
(4) Lubricating oil should be kept enough in the casing and checked at a fixed time.
